Dr Moon Baik

Dr Moon was born in South Korea and moved to Brisbane in 2002 just after he finished high school. He studied dentistry in Brisbane and graduated from the University of Queensland in 2010, then lived in Townsville for a little while before moving to Charters Towers in 2011. He worked at the Charters Towers hospital dental clinic until the middle of 2019 when he opened Towers Family Dental.

In his spare time, Dr Moon enjoys travelling and spending time with his wife and son.

Dr Seonja Kwon

Dr Seonja was born in South Korea, and before moving to Australia in 2009, she had spent a few years living in Russia and Alaska. She studied dentistry in Cairns and has called Charters Towers home since 2022.

If she ever gets any spare time after work, Dr Seonja is a keen archery player, and she tells us that she is training for the 2032 Olympics! She loves food and is a great cook, who also enjoys eating out at good restaurants.

Sarah

Sarah is a proud local who grew up on her parents’ cattle station before attending boarding school in Charters Towers. She has been working in the dental industry since 2011, developing a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for helping patients feel comfortable and cared for throughout their dental visits.

Sarah completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2012, followed by her Certificate IV in Dental Radiography in 2015. She has continued to expand her skills and knowledge, completing further training to upgrade her radiation licence and become qualified to take 3D dental X-rays.

Sarah loves being part of a supportive dental team and takes pride in working alongside her colleagues to ensure every patient has the most comfortable and positive experience possible.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. She loves buying plants, baking and making the most of life on the land. Her family also includes two dogs, a few poddy calves and, as Sarah would say, far too many chooks!

Sarah’s caring nature, extensive experience and passion for patient care make her a valued member of the dental team.

Abby

Abby is a Charters Towers local who has been part of the community her entire life. After graduating from Charters Towers State High School in 2014, Abby worked at McDonald’s before beginning her career in dental assisting in 2016.

Passionate about providing patients with a positive and comfortable experience, Abby is dedicated to making every visit to the dentist as welcoming as possible. She completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2018 and continued developing her skills and knowledge, completing her Certificate IV in Dental Assisting in 2025. This qualification has also allowed Abby to obtain her radiation licence and further expand her role within the practice.

Outside of work, Abby is a creative at heart with a passion for art and all things handmade. Since August 2025, she has also been running her own small cookie business, Made by Abby, combining her love of creativity with her entrepreneurial spirit. She enjoys creating and decorating custom cookies and loves the opportunity to turn her ideas into something people can enjoy.

When she’s not working or baking, Abby enjoys painting, drawing and spending time with her partner, Nik, and their two cats, Raven and Muso. She hopes to continue growing both personally and professionally, while travelling the world and experiencing everything it has to offer.

Abby brings a caring nature, creative spirit and genuine passion to everything she does, always striving to make a positive experience for the people around her.

Chayla

Chayla has been a valued member of the Towers Family Dental team since the beginning of 2026, bringing with her several years of experience in the dental industry. She first began her dental assisting career in 2021, working in Brisbane straight out of school. During this time, she gained experience in both a specialist dental surgery and orthodontic practice, giving her a diverse background within the dental field.

Chayla’s favorite thing about being a dental assistant is working alongside an amazing team and helping create beautiful smiles every day.

In 2023, Chayla made the move from the Gold Coast to Charters Towers, where she has continued to grow both personally and professionally. She enjoys the variety that comes with working in dentistry and loves continuing to learn, develop her skills and expand her knowledge within the industry.

Outside of work, Chayla is a full-time fur mum to Clyde, Clint, Oscar and Tess. In her spare time, she loves spending time on the block she shares with her partner, Nathan, where her love for animals can continue to grow - and, of course, where there is always room for another furry friend!
