Dentures (also known as plates) are artificial, removable teeth made of acrylic and/or metal, for replacing missing teeth. They also help to retain your speech and normal chewing ability.

Partial dentures are used to fill the space left by a single tooth or a few missing teeth and are held in place by fine metal clasps. Full dentures may be a suitable solution to replace all your missing natural teeth. Immediate dentures are fitted immediately after tooth extractions in cases where it is not appropriate to leave a gap or where an immediate full denture is required for chewing. There have been significant improvements in the design of dentures so it's best that your dentist advises you on the best type for you.
